Aurelie Bidermann

Her short film for her new collection (Fall/Winter 2012) shot by Mr. Emmanuelle Alt (Franck Durand). Beautifully! Inspired by Steve McQueen (from the Thomas Crown Affair).

Not normally a fan of split screen, but the visuals here are so captivating. And, unlike many fashion films, the product (jewelry) is showcased spectacularly.

Thought Catalog.

You know I have love for lists. And so here I present a metaphorical orgasm - a list of lists (and including a few non-lists). Also an unpaid, unsolicited plug for Thought Catalog, a wondrous source of procrastination.

Here is a smattering of my favourite articles, and a little sample of each. Check it out at your peril - I'm addicted. Addicted like I check this bad boy out more than I check Facebook. I've also been uber clever and linked the headlines for you. Enjoy.

21 Ways You Should Take Advantage Of Your 20s

21. Go to/host theme parties. Once people age out of their 20s, no one’s trying to wear pajamas or Saran Wrap out of the house. The only theme parties that exist after your 20s are ‘Wedding,’ ‘Baby Shower,’ and ‘Funeral.’

You’re Not Allowed To Have Feelings

If you have a car, a job, a house, some combination of the two or all three, your life is a dream made of spun sugar and unicorn farts and you have no right to ever be sad.

You, drama queen, have 90% more things than 90% of people your age; therefore, your feelings of isolation, personal failure, and ennui are baseless and unmerited. Go glaze a cake or something in your post-grad stainless steel kitchen.

50 Of Life’s Little Pleasures

24. Driving over little hills in the car and getting the mini roller coaster feeling.

28. When plans you didn’t want to attend get canceled.

19 Things You Should Do Before You Get Married

12. Finish college. Because you’re way too young to be married that early.

There Is No Swag Left, For Scott Disick Has It All

Truly, he is the high point of that mutated mass of a family unit, and only because his existence is just utter whipped cream — there is no point, no deeper meaning, and he has gone balls to the wall with his Patrick Bateman-meets-Ivy League-frat-boy-who’s-picking-the-hookers-and-blow-up-for-our-yacht-party American Classic Style.

An Open Letter To Men Who Comment On Women’s Weight

But at the end of the day, you could make being a woman in a world where womanhood is scorned a hell of a lot easier on all of us by personally committing to a radical new methodology: refusing to make negative comments about a woman’s appearance. Ever. Under any circumstances whatsoever. Balls to the wall, boys.

32 Moments That Make A Day Awesome

13. When you find out that the sandwich you’re eating includes avocado, which is the food equivalent of sprinkling glitter on something.

10 Ways Having A Full-Time Job Changes Your Life

Happy hour is the best invention ever for those working a 9-5 job. All of a sudden, it becomes perfectly acceptable for you to get Saturday night wasted at 6:30 on a Tuesday.

P.S. Sorry for the lack of pictures. This is becoming a recurring theme. . . blame the copywriting assignments and essays at uni. Amy xx

21 things about 21 years.

Thought catalog is all about lists of your twenties - what you should and shouldn't do, who you should and shouldn't do, things to remember, things to forget, etc etc etc. Lots of advice too.

Here are 21 things I have learned in my 21 years. They may or may not be of interest to you.

1. Stay fit. You are probably never going to be that much skinnier than you are now, so you might as well be fit.

2. Learn what your tolerance for alcohol is. Sloppy was cute at 17. It's not cute now.

3. Have some self respect. Chances are, you're pretty amazing. If you don't love yourself, how do you expect anyone else to?

4. Be nice to people. If you give people what they want, they'll give you what you want.

5. Learn to apply makeup. Like #2, sloppiness is tolerated in your teens. By 21 you should really have foundation down pat.

6. TRAVEL. Do it now, before mortgages and babies and paying back your student loan saps your money.

7. Be selfish. You don't yet have to cater to anybody else's needs. Enjoy it.

8. Do what you want, not what they want. There is nothing wrong with having a night in if that's what you really want. There's nothing wrong with going out on a Monday. Your call, nobody else's.

9. Learn how to be humble. You will no doubt have a job that requires you to kiss somebody's ass - your boss, your client, the receptionist. Do it graciously. Like it or not, you start at the bottom.

10. Get cultured. Read the news, read books, go to shows, listen to Newstalk ZB, whatever. Be a bit interested in the world you inhabit.

11. Say thank you. Kind of like #9, people remember gratitude. A thank you card (HANDWRITTEN) takes no more than ten minutes.

12. Don't date dicks. At this point, if you wouldn't marry them, WHY bother falling in love with them.

13. Learn how to cure a hangover. I never got them as a teenager - I do now. They SUCK.

14. Budget. We're all poor students - be poor and have nice clothes, or a cool flat or something. Don't be poor with love handles and a hangover.

15. Get rid of toxic pople. Like #12, what's the point. You know they don't make you a better person, and you don't deserve to be in that friendship out of pity, or duty or whatever.

16. Be in the moment. The moment cannot be found on Facebook, Tumblr, Instagram or Twitter.

17. Always ask, the worst thing they can say is no. If you don't ask, the answer is already no.

18. Sort your CV out. Make sure you can spell, format it nicely, stay the hell away from Comic Sans. Get some advice from a successful professional person you respect.

19. Give your money or time to causes bigger than yourself - have a goddamn conscience. You have it so good.

20. Don't take yourself so seriously. Dress up, wear something a little bit ridiculous. Stick your tongue out.

21. Write. You don't have to be an obsessive journaller, but years from now it will be cool to look back and laugh at yourself.

That's my two cents (or my 21 cents). Take what you will, and add your own in the comments!!

Have a fantastical week everybody. A xxx

La Dolce Vita

It certainly looks like a sweet life on the photoshoot for Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2013.

This collection was unbelievably fun for me - I love the crazy traditional-inspired prints and the blatantly nautical stripes. Every outfit is a joy to look at, and (as you well know by now) I can't wait to see the campaign.

After all, it might be winter up in the North but I'm hanging out for the sun!! These long nights and sunny days are so much fun.

Sneaky pics from next years campaign?

Finale, D&G Styles. So cool.

H&M + MMM

This looks like it's going to be such a good collaboration!!

H&M have done so well enticing amazing designers to collaborate - it's just so sad that a) there is no H&M here, and b) everything sells out immediately and pops up on ebay 10 minutes later at triple the price!!

Lizzie's Top 10 (Oops, 15) Best Couples on Film

... And TV.
I almost don't want to post this because am I the only one who wants to spew violently when people are like "I ship them" or use the dreaded "OTP"? Please go find your own social life and stop spending so much time on the internet. Sorry that's actually quite rude of me haha, anyway, there are a few that have stuck with me over the years:

(Liz, what is OTP? this is how much tv I need to watch)

1. Rory & Jess
 (Gilmore Girls)
Jess didn't even need any redeeming features, Funsponge Dean was not a hard act to follow. Nevertheless he was a great character, and they will forever be my favourite couple and he will always be my dream boyfriend. He was well read and intelligent and witty and his wide vocabulary made me swoon. He listened to punk and he understood Rory and Lorelai's pop culture references, and actually had a sense of humor unlike some (Dean) people. There's nothing like a bad boy. I enjoyed watching him fight with everyone. He was exactly what Rory needed and they had so many beautiful moments that 12 year old me almost had a breakdown.

(I find it kind of funny that she has a boys name and he has a girls name. teehee. sorry.)

(Also I'd like to point out I accept that he had his very awful crazy moments but he redeemed himself later in the series and I can't not love that face)

2. Seth & Summer (The O.C.)
What a classic. Summer was actually cast as a guest star when they started filming, imagine if Seth had ended up with Anna! So wrong haha. I also like the Princess Sparkle/Captain Oats subplot. This was a hilarious scene, and the aftermath: "Ryan I was Nemo, and I just wanted to go home!" They were one of those couples who were always a couple even when they weren't a couple and I love them eternally.

3. Freddie & Effy (Skins S3-S4)
Not the most functional or official couple, but when they have their moments they are beautiful, like really beautiful. The scene where they swim to each other in 3x05 has to be one of the best of all time. Things go on a terrible downward spiral and the end of season 4 is just ridiculous, but up til then I loved watching them. An awful relationship, yes, but Freddy's determination to save her is a beautiful thing. (Cue tears). The real reason I included them is cause Freddy is a bit of a dreamboat but shh.

4. Jane & Kevin (27 Dresses)
This one kills me. I think Kevin might be my dream man. Look at his face. His cynicism and sarcasm and straight up rudeness just make my life. And when he says "I cried like a baby at the Keller wedding" my heart melts. Come on. I'm Bennie, he's the jets. Such a great couple.

5. Holly & Paul (Breakfast at Tiffany's)
While lovely, another one where she's got too many issues for my liking and she needs him. Not okay. But the movie is pretty and they have the best kiss in the rain. Obviously this is a great film but I just want to point out that's not a super healthy relationship. Still, one of the best movies of all time.

6. Lucas & Peyton (One Tree Hill)
This scene is perfection (4x09) Lucas is all "Peyton, It's you" and Peyton's all "kiss me you fool". That's not exactly how it went but whatevs. I've watched it an embarrassing amount of times actually, PS Lindsay had a stupid manface.

7. Chuck & Blair (Gossip Girl)
This is an amazing epic one because they're both such strong stubborn people and they can never quite get it to work. So dramatic, so many games, an awful relationship to be in or around, but a great one to watch.

8. Oliver and Emily (A Lot Like Love)
I actually think this is one of the most underrated love stories ever. It may be predictable but it's hilarious and loveable and sweet and Ashton is a babe and did you see how bad their hair was when they met?

(I haven't seen this, but the photo isn't making me rush to watch. . . A)

9. Emily & Naomi  (Skins S3-S4)

Cauuuute. I think this was a wonderfully written and well developed relationship, and I applaud the writers for actually making them multi-faceted characters and not just 'the gay ones' and treating their relationship seriously. It was just two people in love and it was a great love story and Lily and Kat should get awards. Lots of them.

10. Vada & Thomas (My Girl)
Mostly because I cry when he gets stung by the bees just because he was getting the ring for her. Why would he do that? Mood rings aren't even accurate for goodness sake. Arghhhh, it's like in Romeo and Juliet where every time you tell Romeo not to kill himself but he does it anyway!

11. Cliff & Torrance (Bring it On)
They don't even spend much time together but I like the part where they brush their teeth, the part where he makes her a mixtape, the part where she dances on her bed to it, and the part where they kiss.

12. Harry & Sally (When Harry Met Sally)
The banter! I can watch this over and over and never get bored. He's so cynical, and she's so optimistic, they disagree on everything, become best friends and fall in love... While still disagreeing on almost everything. And it's got enough plot twists to keep you entertained all through the movie.

13. Patrick & Kat (10 Things I Hate About You)

Can't not put these guys in, come on. It's Heath. Obviously the classic 10 Things poem and the performance on the bleachers are fab.
"You can't just buy me a guitar every time you screw up, you know. "
Yeah, I know. But then, you know, there's always drums and bass and maybe even one day a tambourine."
LOVE ME HEATHHH

14. Juno & Paulie (Juno)

Juno: "Cause you're, like, the coolest person I know, and you don't even have to try, you know."
Paulie: "I try really hard, actually."

15. Tyler & Nora (Step Up)

This one might not even deserve to be here, I don't even know, maybe I just like this movie. How is Channing such a goofy idiot yet so charming? And this scene is just beautiful. Step Up is one of my favourite movies and I'm only slightly embarrassed to admit it.
(You know how much I appreciate that this is in here. Also they are still happily married in real life, which I LOVE.).

So yup I feel like I need to make up for this post by doing something manly or blogging about bench presses and boxing. I probably should do something to keep our male readers entertained, because I did force them to like the page in the first place.
Sorry guys.
Okay bye gonna go watch Jess & Rory make out now.
I'm kidding xoxo Liz
