Sorry I Suck @ Blogging

I've been very busy lately with doing gross uni stuff and working every chance I can get (mostly to avoid uni stuff) so that after exams I can go on a  huge shopping spree (most likely at the supermarket, not Superette)
Anyway, here are a few things I kind of like at the moment. I really want the pants and boots, so naiice..

1. Philosykos EDT 100ml by Diptique
2. Blooming Playsuit by RUBY
(from Ruby's midseason mini collection, Magic Hour)
3. Acrylic Watch Hat by Carhartt
4. ZK Loose Fit Tee by Zoe Karssen
5. Bobby Dazzler by Butter London
6. Octopus Ring by Nick Von K
7. Alpine Pant by Huffer
8. Daisy Ring by Eyes of Common
9. Viktoria Short Boots by Gothenburg Boots

PS I'm actually using this big font because I think I'm going blind and can't see my screen very well. Maybe glasses should be on my wishlist.

Nail it.

I'm no nail fanatic, nor am I a polish snob (I'll take anything that doesn't chip within 48 hours thank you), but I do have some tried and tested favorites. No way am I organized enough to take my own photos, but I have managed to find my most-used polishes. In case you're in need of some nail inspiration, although compared to the myriad of crazy crazy (often TRASHY) nail blogs out there, this is very boring. Sorry, will try harder next time. Maybe some studded leggings and leopard undies?

Butter London, Yummy Mummy
Orly, Cherry Bomb
O.P.I, Mod About You
O.P.I, Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees

RUBY, Smurf (sorry couldn't find a good picture!)

Do you have a favourite brand or color?

Lizzie's Winter List

Wanting: James Franco? No-one said this had to be realistic. It's good to see I started this post on a serious note. Other than that, I need a new pair of chucks and some boots, these Provensen ones from Ruby are quite cool. I'll make a separate fashion post later in the week. Maybe another piercing in my ear, not this though cause it looks like agony. And orange stuff; I have a weird problem where if it's orange I want to buy it (does not apply to fake tan and/or bronzer).

Eating: Sal's Pizza and Otto Woo both recently opened in Takapuna, especially for my ease of access. Okay, that's kind of debatable but Amy and I went to Sal's with a couple of our favourite people last week and ended up folding our pizza slices in half... It astounds me every time how terrifyingly massive it is. I hope Megan is reading this. And I crave Petal cupcakes all the time.

Drinking: Gin and tonic, chai, and peach green tea. Not necessarily in that order... Way too much coffee too, but that's not new.
Brainwave! If I've never shared this with you, go and make it now, you won't regret it. Days worth of delicious chai, and this way you can tailor it to your taste!

Wearing: Bought this All About Eve jacket in Wellington last month, haven't really taken it off since... (Also managed to dye the end of my hair ginga, but I'll save that story for another day)

And I'm kind of hoping for gifts from Karen Walker and Federation for my birthday... Not from the designers personally, but hey, maybe one day.

Listening to: De La Soul, New York Dolls, Adele, Gil Scott-Heron & Jamie xx's "We're New Here" and an old Salmonella Dub album. Oh and the Kids soundtrack (see below).

Looking forward to: My little trip to Dunedin for Re-O. Should be fun party times before I get extremely serious about uni. I mean that. Extremely serious. This is not what it's going to be like at all (much), but I like this gif so I am going to put it here. Try and stop me (unless you're Amy, cause she can).

Reading: Just finished re-reading The Catcher in the Rye, so I'm just a little way into Joy Kogawa's Obasan. I'll let you know how that one goes! I also managed to read through the entire If Dating Were a Diary blog when I was procrastinating, you may run across some offensive parts and she says 'vagina' an incredible lot but she has countless hilarious moments. Also Amy if you're reading this, please don't lose my copy of Kitchen!

Watching: Kids (1995). Stirred up lots of controversy at the time, and I imagine it still does. You have to cringe through some scenes (especially the opening one), but it's set in New York and it makes you angry, so it's a good movie in my books. Chloë Sevigny is in it, also Leo Fitzpatrick and Rosario Dawson. If you haven't seen it, you should, but maybe not with your parents.
Also passing thoughts on Top Model: I'm really rooting for Tyne. I know everyone says she's a bitch, maybe she is, but I also think she's the best. Note: I don't actually give a shit, it's NZ Top Model. I turn into an awful person when I watch it. Regardless, there's (there are?) my two cents. If she gets kicked out next week I'm going to edit this post and pretend I never said it.

Struggling: With budgeting this month. Also I'm trying to figure out if I can fit a job in next semester with extra classes etc. I was saying the other day, I think I'm one of those people who gets motivated and gets things done if there are lots of things to do, otherwise I become a massive slacker dropkick cause I'm sitting there thinking I've got plenty of time. So work is probably an all-round good idea. Sorry for the rant. Pretty lengthy post actually. And not much to do with fashion. But this isn't a fashion blog so it's fine. Oh and on the note of struggling, I've recently gone to a couple of Zumba classes. Where did my co-ordination go? Some last minute advice:

P.S. What would you like to see more of on here? We're thinking we should actually start writing more on this blog so if you have any suggestions go ahead! You can even facebook us if you want. We're that tech-savvy.

Waiting On The World To Change

It's August. August means the middle of winter has gone, and the days are getting longer. It means spring and summer collections. It should mean less coats and umbrellas (it doesn't, thanks Auckland) and it means icecreams and bare feet.

I have to admit, I'm a little afraid of getting to November and plunging headfirst back into the cold and dark of an English winter. I don't deal well with winter. I mean, one can argue that the fashion is great, but i'm a barefoot kind of person. Barefoot or heels, that is. I don't ski. I surf. I swim. I sunbathe! Winter doesn't hold much appeal. The wet is average. very average. So i am pleased to note that with the onset of the summer collections, i am looking up. Lizzie has forbidden me to buy, given that I'll be spending half my summer in the cold (how did I ever let that happen?) and so it's window shopping instead. My bank account will thank me later, I hope.
